Shir Shalom: A Community for Humanistic Judaism is affiliated with the Society for Humanistic Judaism (SHJ), a growing organization of over 30 congregations in the United States, with others in Israel, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Australia. It is the first congregation in the Delaware Valley affiliated with the Society for Humanistic Judaism, which was founded in 1969 by Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine in Detroit, Michigan.
Shir Shalom is also a charter member of the Kehilla for Secular Jews, which consists of six Secular Humanist Jewish groups in the Delaware Valley.
