Havdalah/Potluck
Supper/Movie Screening. At the Community Room on the ground floor of
William Penn House, 1919 Chestnut Street. We'll start with brief havdallah ceremony
marking the end of shabbat, followed by our usual varied and delicious potluck supper, and
end with the crowd's choice of these two films (). Twist of Fate (A highly placed Nazi officer finds himself in a concentration camp following an attempted assassination of Hitler. When the camp is liberated, he assumes a Jewish identity and immigrates to Palestine where he joins the Zionist movement. Twenty five years later, living as a hero of Israel and a General in the Israeli Army, the underground SS organization ODESSA locates Von Schreader and orders him to....). OR Nazi Art Thefts (an excellent documentary about recovered and unrecovered art treasures stolen during the war). Our host, Shir Shalom member Herman Levin, will sell DEEPLY DISCOUNTED coupons for indoor parking at the Wm. Penn House's parking garage. Tickets are only $4, and cover parking AFTER 5PM. See Herman any time during the evening to purchase your ticket. (Entrance to the garage is on the right hand side of 19th Street, just above Chestnut. It's clearly marked.) Annual Israeli
Folk Dancing Party and Potluck Dinner. At the Cohn-Dingfelder home, 431
Mary Watersford Road, Bala Cynwyd. Join us for a brief secular shabbat observance, a
yummy potluck feast, and dancing under the stars. Dan Schillinger, our dance
instructor, will be there. Please bring a potluck item and a contribution for Don,
